Trisha Ward

Trisha is a prolific writer of both pop songs and musical theatre. Now 37, Trisha started writing songs at the age of fifteen, garnering her first professional commission for a local travel programme in her native North East.

At fifteen, after recovering from a major spinal operation, Trisha wrote her musical adaptation of Macbeth, "Nightshriek", which went on to win her a Time Out Critic's Award for Best Musical. Trisha beat "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables" to win this award. She then started and ran IMPACT, the first professional theatre company in Cleveland in her native North East. During this time, Trisha wrote "Behold The Man" which was staged then adapted into a film and televised across the ITV network. After moving to London, Trisha was signed up by Warner Bros publishing and wrote two further stage musicals, "Forever Yours" and "Lonely Hearts", both of which were staged to great critical

Trisha has recently been working on the feature film and West End Theatre production of her musical adaptation of "Sleeping Beauty". Trisha has written all the music, lyrics and script for the project and has recently written and recorded several new songs for chart release at EMI's Abbey Road Studios which will be included in the score.

Coronation Street Musical Project

Trisha is currently writing the score and lyrics for a major musical theatre project based upon the iconic "Coronation Street". Recording and orchestration of the score for this brand new musical is currently in development with ITV Studios.

Trisha has recently signed an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Sony Music UK for the administration of her work and her individual stand alone songs are in much demand for licensing.

Trisha has written the music and lyrics for Paul Byrom's ("Celtic Thunder") first solo single "If I Could Cry" from "Sleeping Beauty" which is about to have its worldwide release.

She is also currently writing and producing for a new Reckless Entertainment artist, "Shona" whose tracks can be heard on the Reckless "Artists" page, alongside a clip of the "If I Could Cry" video.

Reviews

'Forget Chess, Phantom of the Opera and even Les Miserables - Nightshriek was thought to be the musical triumph of the year. And Ward wrote the music, lyrics and book' - Time Out Awards

'Cancel all engagements, beg or even steal a ticket, hammer on the theatre door until they let you in - it is little short of astounding when one learns that the book, music and lyrics of Nightshriek are all the work of Trisha Ward' - The Times

'Ward displays an exceptional talent for pace and rhythm - producing a fine range of powerful musical numbers.' - Time Out

'She is tipped as the next Andrew Lloyd-Webber and it is easy to see why - epic power, pop rhythms for action-packed scenes and slow, sad ballads for tragic scenes constantly relevant to character and theatrical development.' - The Listener

'As author, lyricist and composer, Miss Ward knows how to maintain tension between high points 'Too Late Anyway' would grace any new musical currently in the West End,.. Lady Macbeth's belter 'The Morning Comes' should send any diva scuttling to the recording studio forthwith' - Financial Times
