John Ward

John started his career in his teens acting, writing and directing, touring the north with the professional theatre company, Impact, created with his sister, Trisha Ward. John also took on various acting roles in television series such as BBC's "A Very Peculiar Practice" and John Godber's "Bouncers", and "Emmerdale".

Television Production

John has worked in television and film production for over fiteen years, including time producing programmes with ITV, the BBC, Channel 4, FIVE and various major independents.

In 1995, John joined Zenith Productions. He enjoyed directing, producing and executive producing a huge variety of projects during his seven years at Zenith, including the award winning documentaries "Frontline Britain" (ITV), "Children's Past Lives" and "Battle of Wills" (C4), dramas including "The Uninvited" (ITV) and "Hamish McBeth" (BBC), as well as Zenith feature films "Walking and Talking" and "Velvet Goldmine". John also directed the 35mm feature documentary, "The Spirit of the Race", for C4/HKJC.

John then left Zenith to set up Reckless Films with his sister Trisha, to produce television, music, film and digital.

Theatre Production

After working as an Associate Producer for Impact Theatre for two years where John co-produced several touring productions including, including: The Old Red Barn/Ole Time Music Hall, Collage, Summertime and Moments Of Christmas at The Royal Albert Hall, he went on to co-produce - with his producing company Reckless Theatre -Trisha Ward's Lonely Hearts at Cameron Macintosh's Old Fire Station Theatre in Oxford with Paul Gregg's Apollo Leisure. He went on to co-produce with David Ian's Clear Channel Entertainment, "Sleeping Beauty" at The Venue in Leicester Square starring Duncan James and further productions if the musical at Sadlers Wells with Amanda Donohoe and Richard Briers.

Music Production

John is Executive Producer on Reckless Entertainment's music projects including Paul Byrom's "If I Could Cry" single/video shortly to have its worldwide release. John produced the video for the track and brought together a world- class team including Bafta winning Director John Stephenson and Director of Photography Mike Brewster (Harry Potter) for the shooting of the video at Richmond's Ham House on a major location shoot. He is also Executive Producer for the James Andrew Arthur project and "Shona" – new artists currently being developed by Reckless Entertainment. John has secured major music financing deals for Reckless Entertainment projects from both Sony Music and EMI records.
