In
celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the
nation's favourite soap, past and present
cast members of Coronation Street have joined
with the Royal Philharmonic orchestra to record
Coronation Street -Rogues, Angels Heroes &
Fools - THE ALBUM.
This exciting record is made up of brand new,
specially composed songs written by critically
acclaimed, award-winning musical writer Trisha
Ward.
‘If It's Too Late', sung by Katherine
Kelly who plays Coronation Street barmaid
Becky McDonald, will be released as a single
on December 6th.
The Album is an epic musical journey through
fifty years of Corrie history. It draws on
the humorous and dramatic plot-lines featuring
the eccentric characters and iconic legends
that have kept the programme in the hearts
and minds of generations of viewers for five
decades.
From Tony Warren's iconic 'Opening Episode',
Hilda & Stan's famous second honeymoon
in ‘Woman Stanley Woman' leading up
to Richard Hillman's stint as the Street's
serial killer in ‘Norman Bates With
A Briefcase', The Album takes us on a journey
of joy, fear, love and humour.
Trisha Ward's sweeping score represents each
decade of Corrie history, recorded at Abbey
Road studios the album has been created under
the direction of Classical Brit Award winner
2010, Rupert Christie.
Coronation Street's Executive producer, Kieran
Roberts said: "When I first heard that
award-winning composer Trisha Ward wanted
to celebrate 50 years of Coronation Street
in music, I was intrigued. When I met Trisha
and saw how passionate she was about the show
and heard the brilliant songs she was writing
I very quickly became excited about the idea.
"Two years down the line I'm thrilled
this music project has come to fruition in
such a wonderful album of original songs -
it is without doubt a unique and fitting way
to celebrate 50 years of Coronation Street."

storylines would lend themselves perfectly
to a dramatic musical journey such as Rogues

on this exciting project."

Featuring the musical vocal talent of Corrie
stars old and new, this highly anticipated
Coronation Street album stars Katherine Kelly
(Becky McDonald), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor)
paying tribute to the iconic Elsie Tanner.
Rachel Leskovac (Natasha Blakeman) in homage
to the Street's most famous barmaid Bet Lynch
and Brian Capron (reprising his role as Richard
Hillman). Kevin Kennedy reprises his role
as Curly Watts, alongside William Roache (Ken
Barlow) and Betty Driver (Betty Williams).
All are joined by David Neilson (Roy Cropper)
and Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper) and
a host of other current Corrie cast.
